The audition process for motion pictures and television is very different from that for theater, or even commercials. Come spend an afternoon with Charlie Holliday of Sacramento's premier casting company, Media Casting Group. (www.MediaCastingGroup.com
SAG-AFTRA rules don't permit us to reveal the name of the agency,
but you'll also receive feeback from a Union Franchised Agent.
Media Casting Group has cast thousands of principals and extras in over 400 projects in the Northern California area, from major motion pictures like Phenomenon and Mad City to mini-series like Gone But Not Forgotten and movies-of-the-week like The Christmas Card and Out of the Woods.
The afternoon will include a question and answer session where you'll have a chance to ask those burning questions about the "dos and don'ts" of the audition process.
What's the most important tool and actor has?
What's the biggest mistake actors make at the audition?
What's the biggest mistake actors make during a cold reading?
What are the casting directors really looking for?
What would make an agent want to sign you?
Before the Q & A you'll have the opportunity to go through the audition process, using movie and TV scripts that will be provided. After your cold reading, you'll be given a written evaluation of your headshot, resume, and audition skills in five different areas with suggestions on how to improve.
