Presents A Special Audition Skills Workshop WHEN: TBA The audition process for motion pictures and television is very different from that for theater, or even commercials. Come spend an afternoon with the casting directors from Sacramento’s leading casting company, Media Casting Group. Media Casting Group has cast thousands of principals and extras in over 400 projects in the Northern California area, from major motion pictures like Phenomenon and Mad City to mini-series like Gone But Not Forgotten and movies-of-the-week like The Christmas Card and Out of the Woods. First you’ll have the opportunity to go through the audition process, using movie and TV scripts that will be provided. After your cold reading, you’ll be given a written evaluation of your headshot, resume, and audition skills in five different areas with suggestions on how to improve. The afternoon will then feature a question and answer session where you’ll have a chance to ask those burning questions about the “dos and don’ts” of the audition process. What’s the most important tool and actor has? What’s the biggest mistake actors make at the audition? What’s the biggest mistake actors make during a cold reading?
